We have been providing care and support services to vulnerable people since 2002, our drive and ambition is to be the best provider we can be, which is a reflection of how well we can assist those who need care and support to improve their own independence and quality of their own lives.
Our services are varied and diverse and available 24 hours each day, 7 days each week every day of the year.
Whether the need is for Specialist Interventions, managing people with Forensic elements, Brain Injury, 24 hours Care and Support, or Supported Living in the Community, Next Stage is very much about preparing a service around the individual.
We look forward to better opportunities and services for our client group under ‘Putting People First’, we’re committed to models of ‘Re-ablement’ and Empowerment.
Adults have the Right to live in their own homes, homes for life and the Right for independence for that matter. This is why Next Stage work in partnership with a Charity and Housing Association which is dedicated to working with Vulnerable Adults providing the best possible accommodation. This is an integral part of our service which we know can mean all the difference.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Next Stage offer all of our employees the chance to ‘Make A Difference’ by paying our staff to volunteer for 1 day per year for a charity of their choice. We support the below charities and always interested to hear from charities who are sustainable and promote healthy living.
Mark Grant Becomes Our First Employee
2002 – Next Stage employed our first employee, Mark Grant. Mark also went on to become Assistant Manager and Registered Manager and by the end of 2002 we had a total of 7 service users
Next Stage Established
2002 – Next Stage is established by Paul O’Rourke & Daniel Booth due to the lack of support available for people to live in their own home. We began our first placement in November, Claire Johnson who is still with us today and leading a very successful independent life.
2004 – Next Stage become a Limited Company and moved to new Offices on Lord Street in Westhoughton. We began to expand and experienced great growth particularly with Wigan and Warrington.
2007 – Next Stage expanded our support services in Cheshire by opening our second office in Warrington
New Head Office
2008 – Next Stage relocate to our new head office in Westhoughton
2011 – Jeremy Alston joins the business as Senior Service Manager to further drive the business forward. Jeremy has a vast amount of experience within Health & Social Care
Along Comes Our Third Office
2011 – Next Stage expanded our support services in Lancashire by opening our third office in Ormskirk, Lancashire
2011 – Next Stage create our leaving care team ‘Youth Development’ supporting sole tenancy accommodation located throughout the North West.
Youth Development’s First Home
2012 – Next Stage open our first specific ‘Youth Development’ apartments in Wigan catering for 8 young people
Youth Development Open Their Second Site
2013 – Youth Development open their second site Brogan Court in Bolton
2013 – Steve Donnelly joins as Business Development Manager, Steve has 12 years experience as a Mental Health Nurse and will be responsible for organising the demand and growth of new and existing areas of business
We Open Our First Children’s Home
2014 – Next Stage open our first children’s home in Bury which provides a safe haven for up to 4 vulnerable young people and we received our first Ofsted rating of ‘Good’
Bridging Unit Officially Opened
2015 – Next Stage opened a 10 bed bridging unit in Leyland. The goal at Lakeland House is to provide the service users with the skills and knowledge they require to eventually go and live independently within in the community.
2015 – Our Warrington & Ormskirk offices receive CQC inspection ratings of ‘Good’
We Open Our Second Children’s Home
2016 – Next Stage open our second children’s home in Wigan providing yet another safe haven for young people

2016 – Next Stage were confirmed as Employers of Choice within Heath & Social Care by being named as winners of the Employee Benefits category at the Personnel Today Awards
Great British Care Awards
2016 – Next Stage reached the regional finals at the Great British Care Awards in the Employer category

2017 – Next Stage have been recognised as one of the Best Small Companies to work for in the UK as part of The Sunday Times
Investors In People
2017 – Next Stage have been approved by Investors In People and received Gold accreditation

Since 2011 all care providers in England are required to be registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, (CQC). This has given Next Stage an opportunity to demonstrate the high standards of quality and safety that we can offer our service users and local authorities.
